About Beach Cities Orthopedics & Sports Medicine

Dr. Thomas found a passion for orthopedics through his lifelong obsession with sports. Raised surfing on the beaches of Southern California, Dr. Thomas attended UCSD, where he played water polo and was an NCAA All American in swimming. Dr. Thomas is a certified Sports Medicine Specialist, and works hard to keep everyone playing hard a little longer. His focus is injury prevention and minimally invasive surgery, and is one of a select few orthopedic surgeons performing the cartilage replacement. When BCO was created, he joined forces with Dr. Mealer to create affordable health care for his community. When he’s not in the operating room, you can find Dr. Thomas pursuing his passion of surfing.
